Progressive Web App (PWA) Support

Spokes fully supports Progressive Web App (PWA) technology, allowing you to install the web interface directly to your device as if it were a native application.

This provides a number of benefits:

• Dedicated Window: Run Spokes in its own standalone window without browser tabs or address bars getting in the way.
• App Launcher Integration: Launch Spokes directly from your operating system’s application launcher (e.g., Start Menu, Dock, App Drawer).
• Notifications: Receive native push notifications directly to your device.

How to Install

On Desktop (Chrome / Edge / Brave)

1. Open your Spokes server URL in your browser.
2. Look for the install icon in the right side of the address bar. It typically looks like a monitor with a down arrow, or an “App available” badge.
3. Click the icon and select Install.
4. Spokes will now open in a dedicated window and appear in your application list.

On Mobile (iOS / Safari)

1. Open your Spokes server URL in Safari.
2. Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen.
3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
4. Tap Add in the top right corner.
5. The Spokes app icon will now appear on your home screen.

On Mobile (Android / Chrome)

1. Open your Spokes server URL in Chrome.
2. Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top right.
3. Select Install app or Add to Home screen.
4. Follow the prompt to install. The app will be added to your home screen and app drawer.
